Since its founding in 1985, H.O.P.E. (Helpers Overcoming Problems Effectively) has been serving St. Mary’s County residents by bridging the gap between local congregations and those in need. We are a non-denominational organization guided by a volunteer Board of Directors working in partnership with over 20 churches and numerous community service groups. We have become a United Way organization with direct donations recognized as tax deductible by the I.R.S. With a track record of sound fiscal operation we are proud to say that eighty-five percent of financial donations go directly to those in need.
